I was a great fan of the band Stump in the late 1980's (check out Buffalo from 1986) so was delighted to meet Kev Hopper, the extraordinary bass player whose unique techniques helped define their sound. I actually met Kev and Mick Jagger at different events in the same week in 1998. Kev asked me to engineer and play tuned percussion on his next album. Mick didn't.

The result was this beautiful record based on Kev's bass and musical saw playing with plenty of tuned percussion as well:
